Application of Ozone in Cooling Water Systems
This technical paper presents a comprehensive evaluation of ozone as a stand-alone treatment technology for industrial cooling water systems. Through laboratory research, pilot-scale testing, and field case studies, the authors examine ozone’s impact on corrosion control, scale formation, fouling, and microbiological activity. The findings demonstrate that ozone provides excellent microbial control and can support effective cooling system operation, while highlighting that corrosion and scaling performance remain primarily dependent on water chemistry and system conditions.
