The purpose of the ozone destructors is to convert ambient ozone gas into harmless oxygen before releasing it into the atmosphere.
The AOD series Ozone Destruct Unit utilizes a thermal-catalytic method to remove excess ozone. The destructor device uses Carulite 200 as a catalyst to enhance the process. Catalytic destruction involves breaking down ozone into oxygen molecules using this material. The catalytic reaction is essential for converting ozone back into oxygen, ensuring the effectiveness of the ozone destructor. The ozone does not consume Carulite 200 and is a safe material that is not considered hazardous waste.

The AOD destructors are compact ozone destruct devices compatible with moisture-saturated ozone gas streams (except AOD2002).  A heater band is used in conjunction with piping configurations in order to keep water vapours from condensing on the destruct media. The device must be mounted in an upright position to maintain efficient operation and moisture removal. For very wet air (contact tank off-gas), we recommend using a water trap to remove bulk moisture.
